Phi Theta Kappa Named to 2024 Transfer Honor Roll

Athens State University

The Athens State University Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) was recently named to the 2024 PTK Transfer Honor Roll among 228 colleges and universities in recognition of the dynamic pathways they have created to support community college transfer students.

The Transfer Honor Roll is determined by 40 key metrics related to the support and success of transfer students, including college cost and financial aid, campus life for transfer, admission practices, and bachelor’s degree completion. The Transfer Honor Roll was based on analysis from the National Student Clearinghouse, and on data submitted through the institution’s profile on PTK Connect, Phi Theta Kappa’s online tool designed to help students find their best-fit colleges and career pathways. Colleges completing the PTK Connect profile are given a Transfer Friendliness Rating. The Honor Roll is chosen from among the top 25 percent highest-rated colleges.

The Transfer Honor Roll recognizes the importance of creating strong transfer pathways that lead to excellence and success among community college transfer students. “The goal of most students attending community college is a bachelor’s degree, but few do because of financial barriers and the complexities of the transfer process,博士说。. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, President and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa. “We are proud to recognize the exceptional colleges and universities that go above and beyond to create accessible pathways to bachelor’s degree completion for community college transfer students.”

“We are incredibly honored to be named to the Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll once again this year,”医生说。. Katherine Holm, Interim Dean of the College of Education at Athens State University. “As the only Phi Theta Kappa alumni association in the state of Alabama, this recognition underscores our unique position as the best destination for PTK students seeking to continue their higher education beyond our two-year partner schools. This accolade reflects our unwavering commitment to providing our students with the resources and support they need to excel in their academic journeys. Our PTK students continue to demonstrate excellence and leadership, and this honor is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire university community. We look forward to continuing to foster an environment where our students can thrive and achieve their full potential.”
